Tru-Blu the well know lube oil distributor have embarked on a new venture to produce a Urea Solution which neutralises truck exhaust emissions. Murray Crawford, the owner of Tru-Blu commented at the opening of the plant “the new venture is interesting for us; it is not often that an entirely new product comes into being and we are looking forward to the satisfaction of producing something which will improve the air quality in Australia”.

The venture is a collaboration between Tru-Blu and Brockley Group. The AdBlue will be marketed under the BlueCat® Trademark which is already well-known in European.

BlueCat, Diesel Exhaust Fluid/ AdBlue is a synthetically produced 32.5% urea solution which reduces the emissions of poisonous nitrogen monoxides produced by diesel engines. The Urea Solution acts as a reducing agent for SCR systems (selective catalytic reduction). Diesel Exhaust Fluid/ AdBlue is NOx components of the exhaust gas to nitrogen, water and carbon dioxide, which are components of air. The product is stored in an additional tank on the vehicle. An electronic unit constantly calculates the exact necessary amount of DEF/ AdBlue to be sprayed into the exhaust gas stream.

AdBlue mis-fuel cap removes costly mistakes of contamination AdBlue tanks.

<img style="float: left;" src="{{media url="wysiwyg/miscap-2.jpg"}}" alt="" width="250" />The new cap developed by Tecnnovation is available in the UK and Ireland from BlueCat. It has a magnetic ring to enable it to work with both normal nozzles and magnetic, ‘elaflex’ type guns. Only the correct AdBlue® refill pistol will fit into the opening of the mis-fuel cap preventing access for diesel, petrol and other pistols or contaminants.

The AdBlue mis-fuel cap not only eliminates costly contaminations, it’s fully vented to give easy fill with an internal flap to prevent dust and debris contamination.

Preventing the damage caused by contamination could save over €3,000, so fitting the cap is a sensible precaution for hauliers and rental companies. The protection provided by the cap against ingress of dust and debris is a further benefit for vehicles operating in testing environments.

The Adblue mis-fuel cap is available in the UK and Ireland from BlueCat stockists or can be purchased directly from the BlueCat website (insert link). It comes in two sizes:

BlueCat®, ‘The AdBlue solutions provider’ is now available down under, making it easier for Australians to source reliable, quality product.

<img style="float: left;" src="{{media url="wysiwyg/tru-blu.jpg"}}" alt="" />Tru-Blu Oil Pty of Australia will produce and market AdBlue® under Brockley’s BlueCat trademark. Brockley Group Chairman Hugh O’Donnell welcomed the agreement, which ‘followed a long and extensive search for the right partner to lead BlueCat’s expansion into Australia. Tru-Blu has the manufacturing experience, the distribution network and the right culture on service and quality to match our brands ambition.’

Until now, many new users of AdBlue in Australia have found access to good information and a reliable supply of quality product difficult to find. AdBlue infrastructure has not kept pace with the rapid growth in the AdBlue demand in Australia; this new agreement will give AdBlue users the comfort of a quality product and access to the BlueCat support network.

BlueCat, known in the UK and Ireland as a complete service provider and quality producer of AdBlue will work with Melbourne based lubricants company Tru-Blu Oil Australia Pty to replicate the same quality of service and product availability in Australia. BlueCat will work exclusively with Tru-Blu who will produce AdBlue locally and ensure the high level of services of ‘The AdBlue solutions provider’ will be maintained.

Tru-Blu is a family owned lubricants company whose distribution network extends outside of Australia to cover New Zealand and the outlying islands regions. The company operates from its hub in Bayswater, Melbourne where the facilities include:

Largest independent toll capacity in Australia

Complete range of blended lubricants, oils and greases for automotive, trucking, mining, earth moving, industrial, marine and agriculture.

Polymer blending and solubilisation.

The addition of BlueCat AdBlue is seen by Tru-Blu CEO Murray Crawford as ‘a great opportunity to improve the service we currently give our customers, the growth will improve further our logistics and help consolidate our position as the preferred local, independent supplier.’

BlueCat invest in Irish plant

Irish producer of AdBlue under the BlueCat trademark, the Brockley Group Limited have announced that the plant has substantially increased its capacity. This is to keep pace with the projected growth in demand for AdBlue as Euro VI and Tier IV legislations come into effect. It will also ensure that sufficient stocks are held in Ireland to cope with any shortfall should other importers of product suffer supply disruptions.

The project comprising three phases took place over the final six months of 2010, this involved; Additional storage capacity of AdBlue with the installation of a further three stainless steel tanks, a further di-ionising unit of the mixed resin bed variety and upgrading of the dilution unit to shorten production times.

Project engineer Pat Short was delighted with the success of the project, in particular with the improved production rates during the unseasonably cold weather.

Although growth in demand for AdBlue in Ireland is sluggish as the internal economy seeks to recover it is clear that legislation and technological developments will ultimately drive the requirement for the increased capacity. Nicky Holmes marketing director commented that the improved efficiency of the facility would help contain the effects caused by the escalating costs of urea and that this was also a primary factor in the decision to upgrade the facility at this time. ‘BlueCat policy is to ensure that there is both sufficient AdBlue production capacities to cope with Irish demand and to offer alternatives to importers of the product.
